Hadirnya narasi Ezra 1:1-11 oleh penulis Priester (P) tentang pembangunan kembali Bait suci di Yerusalem tidak hanya menggunakan sumbernya sendiri. Penulis sejarah (Chronicler’s History) yang disebut P menggunakan sumber-sumber lain di luar catatan pribadinya. Bahkan mulai dari tradisi Abraham sampai ke zaman Salomo. Termasuk tradisi nabi-nabi sebelum dan sesudah pembuangan seperti Deutero Yesaya, Yeremia, Yehezkiel, Haggai dan Zakaria. Penulis P mengelaborasi sumber-sumber lain secara rinci sehingga narasi tersebut menarik untuk dibaca. Kemudian menghasilkan sebuah teologi baru bagi komunitas pasca pembuangan dan zaman sekarang ini. Sepertinya tidak hanya melalui dekret Kores pembangunan itu terlaksana. Sebab surat keputusan tersebut tidak terealisasi selama kepemimpinan Kores, malah hampir 18 tahun kemudian barulah pembangunan kedua bait suci itu dibangun kembali. Tulisan ini merupakan tinjauan penulis Priester (P) dan tradisi terhadap narasi Ezra 1:1-11 tentang sejarah pembangunan kembali Bait Suci di Yerusalem. Pendekatan terhadap tulisan ini tentu dengan menggunakan literature yang tersedia dalam membuktikan sumber P dan sumber lain yang digunakan dalam Ezra 1:1-11.
